Proudly specializing in Training, Exercise, and Care service for herding type dogs in Rochester, NY.
Unique services crafted to fit each dog.
Ego-free. Community based.
At Flower City Dog Services our passion is high-drive, behavioral modification (“b-mod”) dogs and their humans.
All of our training, care, and exercise services are driven by our belief that training is about so much more than a weekly class or a fun trick (but those are great too!), it’s about the way we live with dogs and how we help them navigate our world in a way that makes sense on both ends of the leash.
Humans and dogs learn better together; we’re committed to building a team of dedicated dog owners and fellow animal professionals who share our vision of a supportive, effective community.

Why herding dogs?
Sue Storm, 2 year old Katahdin ewe
Our speciality comes from our passion for working herding dogs and the breeds created to meet the needs of traditional and modern shepherds.
We work with our herding dogs daily to care for our flock of Katahdin sheep which gives us a unique ability to understand and rework problematic behaviors in herding (or mix) dogs living in urban and suburban homes.
Common herding dog issues we address:
High Energy / Overarousal
Problematic Prey Drive
Impulsive Reactivity
Aggression (including biting and nipping behaviors)
Inappropriate herding behaviors (kids, cats, and other animals)
Obsessive Behaviors (light chasing, tail chasing)
